Real Connection in a Digital World: Why I'm Stepping Away from Socials to Be Truly Present


In a world that feels more connected than ever, many of us are feeling more disconnected than we’ve ever been. We scroll, we double tap, we watch stories — yet somehow, our souls are craving something deeper. Something more human. More real.


As someone who works with sound, voice, and energy, I’ve always known that healing happens through presence — the kind you can feel in the room. A shared breath. A moment of stillness. A resonant soundwave. These things can’t be replicated through a screen.




Social Media vs. Soul Connection


There’s no denying the power of technology. It’s allowed us to reach people across the world and learn from minds we’d never otherwise meet. But the flip side is one we’re all starting to wake up to — the mental overload, the comparison, the pressure to constantly perform, and the creeping anxiety that comes from always being on.

More and more of my clients have been expressing the same thing I’ve been feeling:

“I’m tired of the noise.”
“I just want real connection."
“I want to feel people again.”

And I agree.


Why I’m Choosing Presence Over Posting


I’ve been told countless times that to grow a business, especially one in wellness, I need to be on social media. Post more, show your face, build your brand. And for a while, I tried. But recently I asked myself:

What if I build my business in a way that feels good to me?What if I lean into what I value most — deep, meaningful, human connection?

So I’ve made a choice. I’m not going to show up on social media just because I feel I should. I’m choosing to show up in person, where I can hold space for real conversations, shared sound, healing, and presence.


The Healing Power of In-Person Events


There’s a reason people feel different after a live sound bath or a vocal toning session in the same room. When we gather, our nervous systems co-regulate. Our breathing slows. Our voices rise and fall together. In-person work taps into our body’s primal need to belong — and to be witnessed in our wholeness.

The work I do through Song and Sound is about coming home to yourself — through breath, tone, rhythm, and voice. And that’s best done with another human being, holding space beside you.

I’m a proud member of the Complementary Medical Association and the Musicians’ Union and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Sound Therapy and a BA Hons in Music.
